The Durham Region Highland Dance Association is a volunteer organization which promotes and supports highland dance in the Durham region. DRHDA offers 3 competitions each year featuring both highland and national dances. DRHDA supports interest in Scottish culture through dancing.
The Aims and Objectives of the DRHDA are as follows:
- To preserve and promote a continuing interest in the ancient tradition of highland dancing.
- To encourage interaction among highland dancers and their families.
- To promote and organize friendly and healthy competition within the highland dancing community in cooperation with other dancing associations.
- To maintain and uphold the rules of conduct of highland dancing competition as outlined by the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing. (R.S.O.B.H.D.)

All elected positions are to be held for a term of two years. Open elections for these offices will be held at the annual general meeting. All members in good standing are eligible to vote.
An Annual General meeting shall be held in the fall of each calendar year at a time and place as decided by the current Executive committee. Additional meetings can be convened at the discretion of the Executive Committee and advance notice of such meetings shall be published by the Secretary.
