The Durham Region Highland Dance Association is a volunteer organization which promotes and supports highland dance in the Durham region.  DRHDA offers 3 competitions each year featuring both highland and national dances.  DRHDA supports interest in Scottish culture through dancing.

The Aims and Objectives of the DRHDA are as follows:

  1. To preserve and promote a continuing interest in the ancient tradition of highland dancing.
  2. To encourage interaction among highland dancers and their families.
  3. To promote and organize friendly and healthy competition within the highland dancing community in cooperation with other dancing associations.
  4. To maintain and uphold the rules of conduct of highland dancing competition according to the rules of the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing. (R.S.O.B.H.D.)
